TAS Faculty-Food, Textiles, CAFS

The TAS faculty at Endeavour Sports HS is a large faculty offering a broad range of subjects. In Years 7 and 8 we cover the mandatory Technology areas with Design Projects from two areas of study - Products and Information and Communications.
In years 9 and 10 we offer Food Technology and Textiles and Design for the School Certificate. At the HSC level the courses covered are Food Technology, Community and Family Studies, Textiles and Design and VET Hospitality.

YEAR 7 & 8 Technology (Mandatory)

Technology is mandatory for all year 7 and 8 students.

With the rapid changes in the world today this syllabus has been designed to develop an understanding of technology and the design process, it is hoped that it  will enable people now and in the future to manage, interpret, shape and alter their environment to improve the quality of life in the community and at home.

Technology  intergrates both practical and theoretical knowledge to develop solutions.  After identifying a need students use their knowledge and skills to work through the design process and come up with a solution that uses resourefulness and imagination.

During their time in technology students come in contact with a wide range of tools and technologies that will help them to develop creative and imaginative solutions that can be applied to real problems in their future. Aesthetic, financial and functional valus are used to enhance their solutions.

In the Home Economics Area, students will study the following:

• Food Design
• Promotional Design
• Accessories Design
