Application for Enrolment in the Targeted Sports Program
Endeavour Sports High School is a Year 7 to Year 12 comprehensive, coeducational, public high school. We educate over 800 students from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and from a wide geographical area. Endeavour Sports High School offers the complete range of academic courses and extra-curricular activities. We also offer the opportunity for students with sporting talent to compete for a place in our Targeted Sports Program. Of seven sports high schools in NSW, we have the largest number of students enrolled in a sports program (approximately 500) and are currently the most successful in terms of sporting achievements.
The Targeted Sports Program (TSP) is a user pays training program offering two 90 minute sessions per week. The program is coordinated by a Director of Sports with a teacher assigned as mentor to each of the 18 sports offered. The training sessions are conducted by highly qualified coaches and the opportunity exists to represent at school, region, state and national level.
The selection criteria for entry into the TSP are designed to identify students that are not only talented in sport but able to reach their academic and social potential given the time pressures and physical demands of competing and training at an elite level.
In general terms the criteria are:
· Skill level
· Fitness level
· Potential for development in that sport
· Demonstrated commitment to school studies
· Satisfactory level of school conduct
Steps for enrolment in TSP
1. Please return:
· a parent/guardian application and Declaration,
· a student application and Choice of Sport,
· your child’s most recent school reports.
2. Please hand the Student Evaluation to your Principal and request that they fax it to us.
3. You will be invited to selection trials.
4. A selection panel will review each application and make recommendations to the Principal.
