The Careers Resource at Endeavour Sports assists all students in realizing their individual abilities and aspirations so as to make informed career related decisions. This is achieved through the following:
- Develop a Career Education Program that promotes the vocational development of all students
- Teach Careers Education lessons utilizing a range of resources
- Career counseling to either individuals or small groups. Year 10 and Year 12 students receive extra attention. Students may request an interview at any time.
- Co-ordination of work experience program. This involves organization, supervision and evaluation of the program, reparation of students and liaison with students, teachers, employers and parents.
- Organisation of industry visits and excursions
- Maintenance of Career Reference Centre
- Organisation of guest speakers and seminars
- Curriculum co-ordination, establishing and developing links between career education and other faculties
- Establish links with career agency services such as Jobs Pathway program; Centrelink; Job Network and Group Training Companies
- Liaison with parents
- Assist elite athletes with accurate advice re. scholarships; overseas opportunities; employment related to their sport
- Provide MBTI personality assessments for students matching them with potential careers
- Co-ordinate tax file number applications for students
- Explanation of the HSC and calculation of the UAI
- Provide information on education, training and employment options to students, teachers and parents
- Assist students with job applications
- Provide students, parents and Teachers with information on tertiary courses, selection and application processes
- Assist students with special admission schemes and scholarship applications for university, TAFE and private providers
- Assist students with subject selection from years 8 to 9 and Year 10 to 11
- Co-ordinate TAFE delivered VET courses - advertise to students and parents, assist students with applications and election of appropriate courses
- Work with other District Careers Advisers to organize University Information Days, Vocational Education Days and recruitment evenings
- Professional development through attendance at University Information Days, seminars, industrial visits etc and attendance at Careers meetings
- Compile destination surveys of school leavers
