  • The students are in Year 10 from Yamanashi-Ken which is located in the picturesque alps about two hours south from Tokyo. The students were billeted wtih our students for the week, and many families organized interesting activities for their guests. At school the students attended normal lessons with their buddies, had ESL lessons in the library, Aboriginal painting classes and the students with their buddies went on an excursion to Darling Harbour and the Aquarium. Host students said it was a memorable cultural experience.
  • NEW GYMNASIUM OPENING 7TH NOVEMBER 2008
  • On Friday November 7 the Gymnasium was officially opened by The Hon Ian West representing The Minister for Education, Verity Firth. Prior to the ceremony we were entertained by the school band with a very professional sounding repertoire. The ceremony itself was capably led by our School captains Tim and Sheree in their first official duties.  Following the ceremony the Principal Sue Cran cut the ribbon and the Official party moved into the gym to see it ‘in use’ by the impressive basbetball, netball and trampolining TSP groups.

This gymnasium is the product of dreams, tenacity and co-operation. The dream started during the principalship of Mr Graz Perre and it was nurtured through the dedication and support of Mr Bruce Baird, Mr Alan Jones, Mr Lee Evans and staff at the school such as Mr Paul O’Neill. For the people involved it was a challenging process to bring the dream of a facility like this to fruition and we owe them gratitude for their persistence.

Openings such as this do not just happen and I would like to thank the many staff members who contributed. A special thank-you goes to Dave Davids for his co-ordination of the event.
